Cinco Rios Lodge is located on the banks of the Simpson River ten minutes from Coyhaique, the capital city of the Aysen Region of Chile. To get to the lodge, fly to Santiago, then three hours south to Balmaceda. There you will be met and driven the 45 minutes to the lodge. The lodge opened in 2008 and was designed specifically for the site, taking advantage of the panoramic view of the Simpson Valley. There are six spacious rooms for twelve guests. Each one has a private bath, 2 king beds, a balcony and a view of the valley and beyond.
Cinco Rios has developed an innovative cuisine that features the essence of the region. They use the best local ingredients such as range fed beef, lamb, wild morels, fresh herbs from their organic garden and fish from the Chilean fjords. Pairing this local cuisine with a range of wines from Chiles boutique wineries makes for memorable meals. Your host and lodge owner is Sebastian Galilea, whose family settled in the area over 100 years ago. They have unique access to numerous waters.
Estancia del Zorro is East of Coyhaique, close to the Argentine border and the continental divide. It is east of the mountains, with a drier climate. There is a rich spring creek that flows through their property. On nearby by properties there are 2 additional spring creeks, with lots of habitat and food for trout. It is also a great place to jump off to the middle Nireguao and other waters. It is very peaceful and the views are panoramic!
