Fishing and Species
This is fly fishing for Steelhead and King Salmon. There are 2.5 miles of water on the property and 3 miles on the adjacent property. The runs are reached either by walking or driving a side by side 4x4. The fishing is all done by wading and is unguided.

Skeena Meadows is unique among steelhead lodges and all lodges  in fresh and saltwater. Their approach is comfortable "tent like" accomoodations, on the bank of the Skeena River,  which is one of the most notable in the world. Most anglers when near the river either want to fish, be getting ready to fish or to reflect on the days fishing. They don't really want to quit fishing because someone else says it is time to eat. This is what Skeena Meadows does well. The river is steps away for your tent cabin and the food is prepped and in your fridge with simple cooking instructions. The meals are something to look forward to.

Overall you have access to 5.5 miles of the Skeena, which you might not even be able to fish all of during your stay. Fishing is accessed eith on foot or by and ATV 4x4 that each cabin has. Don't be intimadated by the size of the Skeena, the fish are not in the middle (but might be on the farbank). The property is 685 acres with spectacular views fo the valley and mountains.

If you have spent any time in the Smithers and Terrace area you know nothing is cheap there. This is something far nicer than a motel and eating marginal food at a restaurant. It is not a lodge but sometimes it is good to do your own thing at your own pace. Skeena Meadows has deliberately made a very comfortable place to stay by the river that is not overbearing in the managing of how you spend your time, whether it is fishing until it is black dark or having a nap.
