Fishing and Species
Olympic Peninsula rivers: the winter season starts in December with a flood of hatchery fish, slowly give way in January to the wild fish in great numbers and some of the biggest steelhead in the world. A 20 pound fish won't even get your name in the paper. The prime time for wild fish is Feb. April. Rivers fished are the Bogachiel, Sol Duc, Quillayute and Hoh.
Olympic Peninsula Steelhead

The Olympic Peninsula and its steelhead are mythic. This is the majors. The rivers are very dynamic being in the Olympic rain forest, they are either going up or coming down. This changes the fishing, the runs and lies everyday and sometime from morning to afternoon. This is the opposite of a tailwater or spring creek fishery. Trevor Covich has guided and fished for years there. He is fully engaged with the rivers, the fish, the fishing, the casting and innovative fly tying. When fishing with Trevor you not only give yourself the best odds of hooking a fish, you will learn things that can be used for the rest of your life. This is what all great guides do.
Trevor has guided on the Kanectok at Alaska West. Currently he also guides in Alaska on the Sandy River for Kings and Steelhead.
Accommodations are available in the area, and we can provide suggestions on local options.
