Fishing and Species
The outstanding team of guides of Bair's Lodge is what makes the fishing here so great. Their years on the water and knowing where to be when makes all the difference. Andros is known for amazing Bonefishing with a vast amount of habitat. The fishing ranges from a maze of creeks and interior flats to the seemingly infinite flats of the south end. There are large fish and there can be good numbers as well. Fishing is a mix of wading and fishing out of the boat. The guides can lean toward which approach you prefer, depending on the tides and type of flats. They use the latest Maverick skiffs, with powerful 4 stroke outboards and trim tabs to stay on a plane in the shallowest waters.
Bahamas

Bair's Lodge is located on the east side of South Andros in the Bahamas. Andros is the largest of the Family islands, and still one of the least developed. Inland creeks and large channels, called bights, divide this unique and unspoiled island. With a location like none other, Bair’s Lodge offers the unmatched hospitality, great guides, friendly and professional staff and managers other lodges wish they had. The pace of life on the island is very gentle, and the local community is peaceful and very family-oriented.

Bairs Lodge is an attractive Caribbean style building surrounded by tropical flowers and palm trees. The oceanfront lodge is ideally located close to the fishing with the flats skiffs anchored out front. Bair's sits between Deep Creek and Little Creek, which open out into a broad area of inland flats with hundreds of small cays and connecting channels, covering over 120 square miles. The beach in front of the lodge and a wonderful white sand bank just a few minutes away to the north offer additional opportunities for flats time.

The airy living room and dining room area faces the ocean and has comfortable rattan sofas. There are 2 large ceiling fans and A/C in every room. The lodge has a main bar fully stocked with spirits, cold beers, soft drinks, plenty of ice, a blender and mixers for cocktails. Next to the indoor bar, there is a fly tying table for guests to use. Satellite television is available for those who wish to catch up on news or sports during cocktail hour.

The guest office is located between the bar and the sitting room. You will find telephone facilities and a computer station with satellite internet access and e-mail. The lodge offers loaner rods free of charge.

The beach-level rooms open onto a long verandah facing the ocean, with comfortable benches and tables, a great place to sip coffee in the morning or cocktails in the evening. There are also handy rod and wading shoe racks that are next to fresh water for rinsing. From the verandah, just walk along the path to the beach where the flats boats are moored. Right by the verandah there are comfortable lounge chairs, a hammock and a beach bar deck right by the sea. The prevailing Southeast wind and verandah ceiling fans ensure there is always a breeze, so you can usually enjoy evenings outdoors without (too many) insects.

All of the bedrooms are light and airy, with terracotta tile floors, 100% cotton sheets, as well as tropical-weight duvets and plenty of down pillows. They are fully air-conditioned with lots of storage space and electric outlets to recharge appliances. All bedrooms have en-suite full baths offering powerful showers with hot water 24 hours a day, lots of white towels, robes and amenities. Housekeeping takes pride in keeping the rooms spotless and will happily do your laundry. There are two wonderful outdoor showers so you can enjoy showering al fresco!
