The internationally renowned Lake Strobel, a.k.a. Jurassic Lake, is 65 square kilometers of crystal clear water. Its extraordinary biological characteristics and conditions allow amazing growth of trout, famous worldwide as probably the best wild rainbow trout fishery in the world.

The comfortable and exclusive Estancia Laguna Verde, located on the south side of this incredible place. It offers fishermen the chance to experience wild Patagonia at its best, surrounded by beautiful untouched landscapes and unparalleled flora and fauna, and the opportunity to battle against huge and strong fish.

This incredible place offers not only extraordinary fishing at Lake Strobel, but also fantastic action at the amazing Barrancoso River, the only tributary of the big lake, with more than 8 km running inside the Estancia. Challenging fishing is also available at 15 smaller lakes located inside the ranch, in the middle of the breathtaking Patagonia.

The lake has plenty of smaller bays as well, which gather great quantities of fish and offer protection in often-windy conditions. In order to experience great fishing adventures every day of the week, you can move around with our boats or skiffs, covering lots of water and great fishing spots. The smaller lakes inside Estancia Laguna Verde offer visitors enormous trout as well, which are great to fish from the coast as well as from boats (two fishermen per boat with one guide.) The incredible Barrancoso River, the one and only tributary of Strobel Lake, is a typical mountain freestone river with transparent waters and big rocks, holding amazing trout in its beautiful pools, pocket waters, flats.

The Estancia is located a few meters from the beautiful "Laguna Verde", which gives the lodge its name. The waters are a beautiful color, and offer excellent fishing, with opportunities to catch trout of significant size and fighting ability.

The Lodge offers a spacious living room, facing Laguna Verde, where wine and cocktails are served. There a 42´ LCD TV with a satellite connection and a DVD player, as well as a fly tying desk, to enjoy when not fishing. There are also Satellite and IP telephones, unlimited wireless Internet access, and a computer available at the lodge, with electricity available 24 hours a day. There is also a changing room/drying facility, located just by the entrance door of the lodge, in order to use before and after fishing, to dress/undress, as well as have all the fishing gear ready and dried every day, such as waders, wading boots, rods, reels, vests, etc. The Lodge has five double bedrooms with comfortable en suite bathrooms, provided with hot water 24 hours a day. Each bedroom has two single beds. Laundry service is provided twice a week if desired by guests. The staff at the lodge offers friendly and professional attention to create a cozy and relaxed atmosphere and guarantee a truly unforgettable experience.

Estancia Laguna Verde also offers excellent cuisine, preparing typical Argentinean food like "asados" (barbeques), the famous Patagonian lamb, and the best international dishes. In Argentina, they are proud of their excellent meat, which is internationally known for its quality and flavor. We also take pride in the high quality of our excellent selection of "fiambres"(cold cuts), cheese and dairy products, fruits and vegetables. We also have an excellent array of wines, beers, clear brandies, and regional liquors. These riches are a consequence of the wide and varied geography of our country and the years of immigration from countries such as Spain, Italy, France, Germany, and Russia, to name a few. These cuisines blended with native and national gastronomic culture, forming an irresistible combination for those who are very fond of good food. All dishes are paired with an outstanding selection of wines from Mendoza, San Juan, Salta and Neuquén, including Malbec, the traditional Cabernet Sauvignon, and the Merlot. In addition, our visitors will also be able to enjoy the deep Tannat and our unique stock of white wine (Torrontés variety), which in the Andes mountain range and its special climate has acquired a new incredible dimension.

In the morning, visitors will be served an excellent and satisfying breakfast to start off the day with plenty of energy. They will be able to choose from coffee, tea, fruit juices, yogurts, milk, regional cheese, eggs, ham, toasts, freshly baked bread, croissants, butter, marmalades, honey, cereals, as well as dried and fresh fruits.

At noon, lunch will be arranged depending on which section of the Estancia our guests are fishing that day and according to the preferences the guests have stated to the lodge's host or chef. Trout or meat disco (a special way of barbecuing in the open air) accompanied with salads can be enjoyed when you are fishing the chained lagoons. Picnics with different cold meats, a selection of cold cuts, cheese and fruits can be provided when fishing the Barrancoso river. You can also choose to relax along the shore of Lake Strobel in a soft armchair for a satisfying lunch and a siesta.
