Fishing and Species
There miles of wadeable flats as well as water that is best fished from the boat. The approach to the fishing depends on the anglers preference and the situation with depth, tides and firmness of the bottom. The lodge has all seasoned guides and fishes out of new in 2021 Maverick 17 ft HPX V&S skiffs. These skiffs are fast, comfortable and safe. Bonefish are the primary species anglers fish for. In addition there is great Permit fishing, with fish from 10-50 pounds. Other species to definitely be ready to fish for are Triggerfish, Mutton Snapper and Barracuda.
Arrivals and Departures
The lodge offers stays of 3 nights and 2 days fishing and longer. Most stays are 5 to 7 nights. When making a reservation make sure there is a flight to Great Harbour Cay on that day.

There are well appointed bedrooms, each with 2 beds, private bath and A/C.

This is mostly for anglers.
Airport / Logistics
Anglers have the option of flying from Ft Lauderdale on Makers Air or Tropic Ocean Air. This is about a one hour flight. You will clear customs at the Great Harbour Cay airport and then transferred the short distance to the lodge. Another option is to fly via Nassau on Le Air.
Climate
The Bahamas is typically 60's to 80's, with possibly cooler or warmer weather.

A standard daily guide gratuity is $100 - $125. Lodge gratuity is typically $30 + per night per angler.
Medical Facilities
The nearest medical facilities are Nassau or Ft Lauderdale, both via a flight. Anglers should have Global Rescue or similar emergency medical evacuation insurance.

Great Harbour Cay, Bahamas
Soul Fly Lodge opened in October 2021. By January 2022 it was nearly full with anglers, looking to wade and fish new waters and experience the hospitality of the lodge staff and owners. Founded by Kyle and Kitri Schaefer, the lodge reflects their time managing the esteemed Bair's Lodge on South Andros, guiding in the the Northeast for Stripers and the understanding of how to treat your two most valuable assets the staff and clients. It is the only lodge on Great Harbour Cay, making for miles of unpressurred water to fish.
