Fishing and Species
Kamchatka is known for its wild rainbow trout, where the average is 20" +. Of course they are not born at 20" so there are some smaller fish, as there are some larger ones pushing up towards 30". There is a lot of food in the river to grow big healthy trout. The fishing is a mix of fishing while floating between camps from the raft and wading. In addition there is camp water to fish until you are "done". There are Kings and Sockeye in the Two Yurt which enhances the trout food supply. There are some Dolly Varden and a bonus of nice sized Grayling. The quality of the fish and fishing is unique in the world.

Best of Kamchatka, Russia
Fly fishing for Rainbow Trout in the wilderness of the Kamchatka Peninsula is one of the "must do" experiences for anglers. What makes this different than most other trout fishing is that it is very remote and you will see no other anglers. In addition to the pristine condition of the watershed and the fishery, there are salmon returning to both rivers and at times prolific hatches of caddis and mayflies. Mousing and swinging sculpins add to the fun and complexity of fishing here. This is not nymphing with egg patterns. There is no need for the "dawn patrol" starts you may have experienced at other lodges or fishing, as you have all of this water to your self.
Floating and fishing the Two Yurt River is an experience like none other in the world. There are 4 anglers in 2 boats with guides. Your float is between 5 different permanent cabin locations. There are hot showers, flush toilets, electricity and wood stoves in each cabin. No sleeping in crappy tents etc...! Best of Kamchatka has an exclusive lease on this river, making for unpressured trout and a wilderness week of fishing.
